Poland - Dispute at retail chain - February 28, 2026
A collective labour dispute intensified at the supermarket chain Biedronka. Trade union representatives from Solidarność union submitted a list of ten demands and entered negotiations with management on 12 February. The union is calling for a PLN 1,000 (€ 234) gross monthly pay rise for all employees, along with additional bonuses for certain groups of workers and improvements in working-time arrangements. According to union representatives, the demands also include stronger guarantees for trade-union activity in the workplace.
