Norway - Union breaks off negotiations on industry agreement - March 31, 2026

YS Association Parat has broken off negotiations with the Confederation of Norwegian Industries in this year's front union settlement. The parties have not been able to meet each other on key demands, and the settlement will now proceed to the Ombudsman in an attempt to avoid conflict. After several days of conversations, Parat’s head of negotiations said that the negotiations are very demanding. The parties are currently too far apart to have been able to reach an agreement through direct negotiations. Beyond the financial framework, advance payment of sick pay and skills development are key points in the breach.
