Norway - Hotel and restaurant strikes end after settlement - May 31, 2026
Members of trade union federations Fellesforbundet and Parat could head back to work after their hotel and restaurant employers settled a lengthy strike. The strike had entered its sixth week, as demands for higher pay and reliable long-term sick-pay disbursements continued. The settlement between Fellesforbundet and the national organization representing hotel and restaurant employers NHO Reiseliv involves pay increases of up to NOK 15.50 (€ 1.43) per hour from 1 June.
