Norway - Catering workers at onshore oil and gas facilities go on strike - September 30, 2026
On 25 September, 205 members of Fellesforbundet went on strike after the union and NHO Service og Handel failed to agree on a new Land Catering Agreement (Landforpleiningsavtalen). The agreement covers catering, cleaning, food service and accommodation staff at onshore facilities in the oil and gas industry. The strike affects five companies. According to Fellesforbundet, these workers are among the lowest paid in the country and are struggling with higher mortgage rates, rising food prices and the high cost of living.
