Netherlands - Union members approve agreement for museums - September 30, 2026

FNV union members have approved the improved final offer for the museums’ collective agreement. 87.5% voted in favour. FNV members rejected the earlier final offer by the employers. Subsequently, the Museum Association came up with an improved proposal. The new collective agreement contains agreements on, among other things, wages, travel expenses, arduous occupations, social safety, AI, accessibility, and leave. The collective agreement runs for 18 months, from 1 July 2026, to 31 December 2027. Wages will increase structurally by 3% as of 1 July 2026, by 0.5% as of 1 January 2027, and by 1% as of 1 July 2027.
