Netherlands - Union members agree with pay deal for publishers - February 28, 2026

A small majority of FNV union members voted in favour of the employers' final collective agreement offer for employees of publishers. The narrow majority shows that many members are dissatisfied with the final offer. This outcome means that, retroactively from 1 January 2026, a 3% pay increase will be granted. A sector-wide workload survey will also be conducted. Furthermore, there will be further agreements regarding aftercare for bereavement and menstrual and menopausal complaints.
