Netherlands - Demands of airport security guards are met - September 30, 2026
The eight demands for which security guards at Schiphol airport took action have been met. The unions, Schiphol, and the security companies have reached agreements regarding improvements to working conditions. As a result, new security guard strikes at Schiphol, which were scheduled for 16 September, have been averted. The agreements concern effective break time, a more balanced deployment of part-timers, sufficient recovery time, greater certainty regarding leave, the deployment of shift leaders, the workload of female security guards, sanitary breaks, and working in high temperatures.
