Netherlands - Civil servants stage 24‑hour strike over wage freeze - February 28, 2026
Civil servants will stage a 24‑hour strike on 3 March after prolonged deadlock in collective bargaining with the central Government. The action is organised by public‑sector unions protesting a “zero line” wage policy under which civil servants would receive no salary increase or inflation compensation in 2026. Earlier targeted actions by customs officers and ministry staff signalled rising frustration. The action will mean that many government services will be difficult or impossible to reach that day.
