Netherlands - Care workers win 7.4% wage increase - June 30, 2026
Employees in nursing homes, residential care facilities, home care, and youth health services will receive a 7.4% wage increase over the next two years. Employees in domestic help will receive a minimum increase of € 50, meaning they will benefit more proportionally than other employees. This is under a new collective agreement reached between unions FNV, CNV, NU’91 and FBZ and employers’ organizations ActiZ and Zorgthuisnl. The agreement covers about 500,000 workers and is the largest in the country. It is set to take effect on 1 September, pending approval by union members. The pay raise will be implemented in four stages. In addition to higher wages, the agreement includes a modest increase of a few cents per kilometer in travel reimbursements.
