Malta - Union secures unpaid wages - March 31, 2026

The General Workers’ Union has secured guarantees from the Government that workers at Aviation Cosmetics will receive all outstanding wages and keep their jobs, after some employees went without pay since January. The Maritime and Aviation Section within the GWU said it moved quickly after workers approached the union about the unpaid wages. The Section Secretary filed an urgent court application seeking the release of funds needed to cover the arrears, and separately notified the Department of Industrial and Employment Relations (DIER).
