Malta - Pay Transparency Directive transposed into law - June 30, 2026
The transposition of the EU Pay Transparency Directive was published in the Official Gazette of Malta on 5 June 2026. It directly implements the individual provisions of the text: the ban on asking for a candidate’s salary history, the obligation to display a salary range in job offers and employees’ right to information regarding their remuneration. Companies with more than 250 employees must produce their first report based on the directive’s indicators by 7 June 2027. The Government transposed the text via a Legal Notice, a text that did not require legislative validation.
