Malta - ‘Historic’ labour law reforms - April 30, 2026

Workers are set to benefit from major labour law reforms, including guaranteed sick leave from the first day of employment, as the Government moves to strengthen rights across multiple sectors. The Parliamentary Secretary for Social Dialogue and Accommodation announced a series of changes affecting 32 Wage Regulation Orders, describing them as "historic" measures that will improve conditions for thousands of employees.
