Luxembourg - Union protest for higher minimum wage - April 30, 2026

Unions have renewed their call for a € 300 increase in the minimum wage, displaying their message on a motorway. Around 60 members of the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) and the Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB) gathered alongside the A6 motorway. The two main unions displayed a large banner on a bridge, as part of their ongoing campaign to raise the minimum wage. The unions’ demand of a € 300 monthly increase is much more than the € 170 increment (3.8%) announced by the Government at the end of March from 1 January 2027.
