Luxembourg - Pay dispute at construction company - June 30, 2026

A construction firm involved in works at the European Investment Bank’s Luxembourg headquarters has failed to pay workers and is facing financial difficulty on projects across the EU. Workers at the Italian firm Rizzani de Eccher, which is part of a joint venture partnership overseeing the project for the EIB Kirchberg headquarters’ expansion, have not received their salaries for May, a trade union official confirmed. The OGBL union confederation is standing with the workers. Around 15 employees are affected who are continuing to work on in the hope that the issue will soon be resolved.
