Lithuania - Union stresses importance of workers’ safety - April 30, 2026

On 28 April, marking the World Day for Safety and Health at Work and the International Workers’ Memorial Day, the Lithuanian Trade Union Confederation (LPSK) emphasizes that occupational safety in the country is still too often treated as a formality rather than a fundamental employer responsibility and a prerequisite for safe work. Every workplace accident is not just a statistic — it is a person’s life. Workers must have both the right and the real possibility to say “no” to unsafe work. This is not disloyalty — it is responsibility for their own and their colleagues’ lives.
