Lithuania - Transposition of the pay transparency directive - April 30, 2026

On 18 March 2026, the Ministry of Social Security and Labour (SADM) announced the approval of proposed amendments to the Labour Code that further the transposition of the European Union Pay Transparency Directive. The amended legislation has been forwarded to the Parliament (Seimas) for final approval, putting the country on the right track to meeting the deadline of 7 June 2026. Additionally, the State Labour Inspectorate (VDI), in collaboration with SADM, published recommendations to assist employers in evaluating their current pay structures and preparing for future compliance.
