Lithuania - Social partners criticise Government - June 30, 2026
Employers and trade unions who reached agreement in the Tripartite Council on raising the monthly minimum wage and the non-taxable income threshold have criticised the Government for reluctance to endorse the agreed increases. Business representatives say the cabinet is failing to honour its commitments and showing disrespect to both employers and employees. The Lithuanian Trade Union Confederation (LPSK) said the agreement reached by employers and trade unions was a rare outcome that should be properly considered. Despite that, LPSK appreciated the Government’s proposal to raise the monthly minimum wage by 8% while leaving the non-taxable income threshold unchanged.
