Latvia - Social partners agree on further action regarding vocational education funding - June 30, 2026

On 10 June, a meeting of the Sub-Council for Tripartite Cooperation on Vocational Education and Employment (PINTSA) was held, in which representatives of employers, employees and the state participated on an equal basis. The topics of discussion were on STEM education development measures to ensure the accessibility and quality of STEM education in 2026-2028 and on problems and solutions in vocational education, including progress in developing a financing model and providing teachers. The employee and employer sides agreed to prepare proposals on vocational education financing and the necessary data by the next PINTSA meeting in August this year, when the 2027 state budget is being prepared.
