Italy - Strike by journalists - April 30, 2026

On 16 April, journalists have joined a national strike called from the National Federation of the Italian Press (Fnsi) for the renewal of the collective agreement, which expired about ten years ago, and for the protection of fair compensation and the rights of workers in the sector. The main television and radio newsrooms are also taking part in the mobilization, with direct effects on news production and programming. In addition to the renewal of the agreement, other reasons for the protest are the loss of purchasing power due to inflation and the growing precariousness of journalistic work.
