Italy - Agreement reached with energy company - May 31, 2026

Trade unions Filctem-Cgil, Flaei-Cisl and Uiltec-Uil signed a draft agreement with the management of energy company Enel covering workers in the company’s e-distribuzione division following a long-running dispute over working time arrangements, staffing levels and working conditions. The agreement was reached after negotiations involving more than 300 union representatives and workplace delegates. The dispute centred on the company’s proposed reorganisation of working hours for operational workers and concerns regarding work-life balance, staffing pressures and compensation for shift work. Under the draft agreement, afternoon shift hours will be reduced and entry times adjusted to improve meal breaks and working conditions.
