Ireland - Unions stand down ambulance strike - May 31, 2026
SIPTU and Unite unions have agreed to stand down a planned 72-hour strike by members of the National Ambulance Service next week following what the unions described as "constructive discussions" with the HSE at the Labour Court. Following talks, the Labour Court has requested that the industrial action, and a work-to-rule, be stood down to allow the process to conclude. The work-to-rule, which began on 11 May, was stood down at noon, 22 May.
