Ireland - Ambulance workers ballot for action - February 28, 2026
SIPTU union members in the National Ambulance Service (NAS) are being balloted for industrial action, up to and including strike action, in a dispute over salary scales. The union has accused management of failing to implement the recommendations of an independent report on updating staff salary scales in recognition of changes in their responsibilities and workload over the last 15 years. The dispute involves members working as emergency medical technicians, paramedics, advanced paramedics, paramedic specialists and paramedic supervisors whose roles, responsibilities and necessary qualifications have changed in recent years.
