Iceland - Wage agreements at risk - April 30, 2026
The Finance Minister said price developments are moving in the right direction. No further emergency measures against inflation are currently planned, but the conditions underlying wage agreements are under pressure. Talks have been ongoing with trade unions and the Confederation of Employers, and the minister says both sides show full understanding of the situation. Collective agreements will be reviewed in September, and based on current conditions, the agreement clauses may be tested, with attention focused on twelve-month inflation in August 2026.
