Iceland - Tensions escalate in airline labour dispute - June 30, 2026
Three Icelandair flights have been cancelled on 12 June due to a shortage of pilots, amid growing claims from the airline that pilots have resumed informal labour actions. At the same time, aircraft maintenance engineers are reportedly increasingly dissatisfied with the lack of progress in negotiations, and maintenance work is said to be piling up. The cancellations are attributed to pilots declining to sell back their days off by reporting for work on scheduled leave days.
