Hungary - Union wants to cooperate with new Government - April 30, 2026

The president of the League of Trade Unions (LIGA) addressed the new Prime Minister in a letter, initiating cooperation with the new Government. The cooperation was justified by strengthening the democratic institutional system and especially social dialogue. LIGA has also formulated proposals to improve the income situation of employees, transform the regulations governing work, harmonize the system of rules governing public service employees, develop institutions for interest reconciliation, facilitate the operation of trade unions, eliminate restrictions on the right to strike, and establish an independent Ministry of Labour. The President of the Forum for the Co-operation of Trade Unions (SZEF) also wants to cooperate with the new Government.
