Hungary - Strike at car parts plant ends with pay agreement - September 30, 2026
An indefinite strike at the Székesfehérvár plant of South Korean car parts maker Hanon Systems Hungary, which began on 10 September, ended on 14 September after the union and management reached a pay agreement. According to the vice-president of the Vasas metalworkers' union federation, workers in Székesfehérvár will receive an additional 2% backdated to May and another 2% from 1 September, on top of the 4% already granted. At the Pécs plant, where there was no strike, wages rise by a further 4% from 1 September on top of the earlier 4.5%. All workers will also receive a one-off payment with their November salary.
