Hungary - Strike at air-conditioning manufacturer - June 30, 2026
Wage negotiations between the Vasas trade union and automotive air-conditioning manufacturer Hanon Systems Hungary had broken down, leading to a two-hour warning strike at the company’s Pécs plant. The union said workers at the Pécs and Székesfehérvár sites wanted a uniform 10% wage increase and rejected the employer’s offer of 4%, especially after only a 3% increase in 2025. 92% of around 400 workers at the Pécs site joined the stoppage and an eight-hour strike could follow if management does not reopen talks or meets the demands.
