Greece - Public service workers strike - May 31, 2026

The Civil Servants Federation (ADEDY) organised a 24-hour nationwide strike on 13 May. The Federation demands, among others, the return of 13th and 14th salary, salaries to allow citizens to live in dignity, mass recruitment in health, education and social security. The main demands being brought by unions include wage increases, measures to address rising living costs, improved workplace health and safety, and the permanent hiring of contract workers, especially in health, education and social security.
