Greece - Public sector unions protest - March 31, 2026
Public sector unions, including ADEDY, organised a protest in Athens addressing Government spending priorities, notably military expenditure. Trade unions argue that increased defence spending constrains fiscal space for salary improvements and social policy. According to ADEDY, the rally was organised in opposition to “dangerous war developments” and the Government’s involvement in international conflicts, which unions argue impose additional burdens on workers and society. The organisation stressed that rising living costs and pressures on labour rights were central concerns motivating the protest.
