The measure applies to around 700,000 private sector workers and also affects other workers through pay scales and benefits linked to the minimum wage. The increase of € 40 per month, or around 4.5%, raises both monthly and daily pay levels, with the daily wage increasing from € 39.30 to € 41.09. It sets the statutory wage floor across sectors and extends to related payments, including unemployment benefits, maternity allowances and seniority increments.
