Greece - Higher pay for public health workers - August 31, 2026
Workers employed in public health service through a special employment programme received higher wages from 15 July. The programme was originally established in 2016 for 4,000 long-term unemployed people, although fewer workers remain employed through it today. Under the new rates, gross monthly pay increased to a maximum of € 1,192 for workers in positions requiring a university degree and € 1,134 for those requiring higher technical education. Workers in positions requiring secondary education would receive up to € 944, while the rate for the lowest qualification category rose to € 920.
