Germany - Bonus for union members in flat glass processing - January 31, 2026
The Industrial Union for Mining, Chemicals, and Energy (IGBCE) and employers have reached a collective agreement for the flat glass processing and manufacturing industry (West). The agreement was reached after unsuccessful rounds of negotiations, mediation, and a warning strike. The agreement benefits 2,300 employees in the sector. Wages will increase by 3% on 1 January 2026. A further increase of 2.5% will follow on 1 January 2027. IGBCE members will receive additional bonus payments. Full-time employees who were IGBCE members as of 31 December 2025, will receive a bonus of € 600 gross with their May 2026 pay check. In 2027, IGBCE members will receive a bonus of € 300 gross.
