Germany - Agreement for health insurance company - April 30, 2026

After three rounds of negotiations without an agreement, the ver.di union called for a nationwide strike of all employees of health insurance company AOK shortly before the fourth round of talks on 14 April. Several thousand employees heeded the call on 13 April, bolstering the negotiating team. After tough negotiations an agreement was reached. Salaries will increase by 2.5% effective 1 May 2026, and by another 2.5% on 1 May 2027. Employees will receive a one-off payment of € 600 gross (net) on 1 July 2026; trainees and dual-study students will receive € 300. A minimum payment of € 130 will apply from 1 May 2027. The agreement runs for 24 months, until 31 December 2027.
