Germany - 7% more pay for bank staff - April 30, 2026

The ver.di union and Sparda-Bank Berlin reached a collective agreement for the bank in the third round of negotiations. Salaries will increase by 4% on 1 April 2026, followed by a further 3% increase on 1 April 2027. Trainees will receive an additional € 150 gross per month starting 1 April 2026. The agreement runs until 30 June 2028. All employees will receive a one-time payment of € 1,000 net per person in December 2026, regardless of their weekly working hours. Employees will also receive an additional day of paid leave for their democratic engagement within the company. Agreements on partial retirement and company pension schemes are expected to follow in the fall.
