France - Social and healthcare workers strike - March 31, 2026

On 10 March 2026, employees in the social and medico-social sector organised nationwide strike action and demonstrations. Trade unions including CGT, CFDT, FO and SUD called the mobilisation to protest against low wages, staff shortages and deteriorating working conditions. Workers argued that remuneration levels no longer reflect the demands of care professions and called for immediate pay increases and additional funding.
