Finland - Teachers’ union announces strike - August 31, 2026

The Trade Union of Education (OAJ) has issued a strike notice for 1-3 September 2026 at universities of applied science. The strike warning was issued to speed up the collective negotiations at universities of applied sciences, which have been stalled for a long time. Since no willingness to compromise or find a solution has been found on the employer side, the union said it had no other option but to issue a new strike warning. The strike notice applies to six universities of applied sciences.
