Finland - Chemical industry extends collective agreements - August 31, 2026

The chemical and plastics industries will keep their collective agreements running for their full term, including an optional third year, negotiating parties announced on 21 August 2026. The negotiating parties to the chemical industry collective agreements, the Chemical Industry, the Plastics Industry, the Finnish Industry Federation, the Finnish Trade Union Pro and the Union of Senior Officials YTN, have jointly stated that the sector’s national collective agreements will remain valid until the end of the agreement period. The agreements for the largest contract sectors are valid until 31 December 2027 and the collective agreement for senior employees until 31 January 2028. The collective agreements for the smaller contract sectors will expire at different times during spring 2028. The collective agreements cover approximately 45,000 people.
