EU Sources - Reports on reduction of working time - June 30, 2026

Eurofound published three working papers on the impact of reducing working-time and introducing the four-day work week. One report examines the evolution and current state of working time reduction initiatives across EU Member States, with a particular focus on the four-day workweek. A second report examines the relationship between working time reduction and productivity by conducting a systematic review of 75 empirical studies. A third report provides a detailed analysis of the impact of working-time reduction reforms, like the four-day work week, on labour force participation.
