EU Sources - EU tripartite social summit - March 31, 2026
On 18 March 2026, EU leaders, employer organisations and trade unions met in Brussels for the Tripartite Social Summit, a key forum for high-level social dialogue. Discussions centred on “investment for a vibrant European economy and quality jobs,” including closing investment gaps, improving skills and addressing labour shortages. Social partners emphasised the importance of collective bargaining in delivering fair wages and stable working conditions across the EU. Concerns were also raised about rising energy prices and their impact on workers’ purchasing power. The summit reaffirmed the central role of tripartite dialogue in shaping EU employment policy and coordinating responses to economic challenges.
