EU Sources - Collective bargaining plans fail service workers - June 30, 2026
On 9 June 2026, UNI Europa brought together researchers and industrial relations specialists from 14 European countries for a one-day workshop to share their expertise on national action plans for collective bargaining. They are a requirement for each EU member state as they implement the EU Directive on Adequate Minimum Wages. Amongst the research findings a stark truth to face: existing plans are largely not fit for purpose for workers in private services, arguably the largest and fastest-growing part of the European economy. In practice, most of Europe falls behind. And for private services this coverage is alarmingly even lower.
