Estonia - Requirements for foreign labour relaxed - May 31, 2026
The Riigikogu (parliament) passed a bill which will make bringing skilled foreign labour into the country easier. The Riigikogu also passed amendments to the Aliens Act which will transpose EU regulations into domestic law and widen the scope of benefits available to third-country nationals on residence permit, as well as tightening up labour laws. The framers of the bill say the amendments also help to bar the exploitation of cheap labour and will bring tens of millions in tax revenues into state coffers.
