Estonia - Education workers on strike - September 30, 2026

More than 400 educational institutions took part. EHL said the strike showed how many education workers are ready to act together to bring teachers' pay to a competitive level. EHL wants the minimum teacher salary raised from the current € 1,970 to € 2,312, the projected national average wage for 2027. EHL claims the Government has gradually backed away from its promise to raise teachers' pay to 120% of the national average.
