Denmark - Unions oppose cuts on social services - August 31, 2026

Eleven unions representing social and care workers, nurses, teachers, administrative staff and other municipal workers have called on Copenhagen City Council to reject proposed social-service cuts amounting to DKK 120 million (€ 16 million). The reductions would affect services for people with disabilities and mental-health needs, as well as homelessness and addiction services. The unions warn that further cuts would mean fewer workers, longer waiting times and less time for each person requiring support.
