Denmark - Start of negotiations for municipalities - January 31, 2026
HK Kommunal union launched the collective negotiations for the collective agreement OK26 with banners, speeches and a demonstration in front of employers’ association KL in Copenhagen. Union representatives, members and union activists showed up with banners and flags to support the demands and send a clear signal to the employers: More pay is needed - now. HK Kommunal has had its own first meetings with the employers and submitted the organization's special demands, so the negotiations are now underway across both municipal and regional collective agreements. The negotiations mark the beginning of a process in which wages and working conditions for more than half a million employees in municipalities and regions will be negotiated in place by spring 2026.
