Denmark - Parliament adopts collective agreement-based scheme for foreign labour - September 30, 2026
On 3 September, the Parliament passed a new scheme that gives companies with a collective agreement easier access to workers from outside the EU. In return, a collective agreement, employer responsibility and a union workplace representative (tillidsrepræsentant) become the "entry ticket", so that workers are guaranteed proper pay and conditions. The Danish Trade Union Confederation FH called the law a new departure and a victory for the Danish model. The union said companies get easier access to labour, but not a shortcut to cheap labour. The scheme takes effect on 1 January 2027 and covers workers from 16 selected countries.
