Denmark - New agreement for nurses - April 30, 2026
The Danish Nurses’ Organization (DNO) has reached a new collective agreement for nurses employed in the state sector as part of the 2026 public sector bargaining round (OK26), following negotiations with state employers. On top of the general public sector settlement of around 5.7% over two years, the agreement includes additional sector-specific improvements for nurses. These include targeted funds for local pay adjustments, allowing unions to address recruitment and retention pressures and improve pay for specific groups. The agreement also strengthens competence development provisions, supporting skills recognition and career progression in a sector facing increasing qualification demands.
