Czechia - Union demands 6% pay rise for health workers - September 30, 2026
The Czech Health and Social Care Trade Union (OSZSP) called for the Government’s draft 2027 health reimbursement decree to be rewritten to fund a 6% increase in pay and wages. The decree defines how much public health insurance pays hospitals and other providers for the care they deliver in 2027. OSZSP said the draft did not release enough funding for services, providers’ costs and pay. The demand covers workers across hospitals, ambulance services and residential social care. OSZSP said the 6% increase would match the 6.2% average-wage growth assumed in the draft state budget, preventing health workers from falling further behind wage growth.
