Czechia - Public-sector pay talks resume - August 31, 2026

A meeting between Government, trade union and employer representatives on next year’s public sector salary increases will take place on 24 August. It should begin after a cabinet and extraordinary tripartite meeting. The head of the Trade Union of State Bodies and Organizations informed about this. He did not want to specify what increase the trade unions will demand. The Minister of Labour said that the growth in earnings of public service and state employees could be the highest in recent years. According to him, there is money for this in the upcoming budget and the proposal also includes a change in the remuneration system.
