The Government approved a regulation that raises the minimum wage by CZK 2,500 (€ 102) to CZK 24,900 (€ 1,018.8) a month from January 2027, equal to about 44.6% of the average wage. According to the Labour Ministry, the January increase will raise companies' wage costs by CZK 5.9 billion (€ 240 mln) next year and those of the state and public budgets by CZK 20.6 billion (€ 840 mln). Under the law, the minimum wage now increases automatically, and it should gradually reach 47% of the average wage by 2029. About 181,000 people, or 4.9% of employees, earn the minimum wage.
