Czechia - 9% pay increase for civil servants - February 28, 2026

The Government has approved new salary scales for 2026, which bring both general and targeted increases in salaries across the public sector. Salaries for civil servants will increase by 9%, for teachers, salaries will increase by 7% or by a fixed amount. Police officers, firefighters and healthcare workers will see their tabulated salaries increase by approximately 5%, with doctors expecting the lowest percentage increase. The classification into a salary class is determined by the difficulty of the work according to the catalogue, the salary grade is determined by one’s creditable experience.
